What is it?

Gua sha is a traditional Chinese healing method in which a trained professional uses a smooth-edged tool to stroke and glide across the target areas whilst applying applicable pressure against the skin to kick start the healing process. This motion raises small, red, rash-like dots that show under your skin called petechiae.

Gua Sha is used to treat chronic pain all over the body. It is often paired with complementary treatments like herbal medicine and CBD to enhance recovery.

To prepare you for treatment, your technician will spray your desired solution (Regular massage oil or CBD) onto your body. We'll then use the stone-like gua sha massage tool to scrape to your skin in long, downward strokes. This is when you’ll notice areas of petechiae on your skin.

Gua Sha therapy can be used on multiple areas of the body

  • Back
  • Neck
  • Buttocks
  • Arms
  • Legs

At first, we'll gently use the tool on your skin. Gradually, add more pressure to the strokes. We'll only apply as much pressure as you’re comfortable with.

This process is believed to help blood flow and create a “lifting” effect on your skin, which may help lessen toxins in your body and promote healing.

Please note: Gua Sha can leave the treated area feeling tender 24-48 hour post treatment. Rest assured this is completely normal as part of the healing process.

What is it?

Cupping therapy is an ancient form of alternative medicine in which a therapist places special cups on your skin to create suction which then brings blood to the the surface of the screen of the targeted areas. Cupping is used for many purposes, including chronic pain, inflammation, blood flow, relaxation and well-being. It is also a type of deep-tissue massage.

The cups are usually made of:

  • Glass
  • Bamboo
  • Earthenware
  • Silicone

Cupping therapy might be trendy now, however, it is not new. It dates back to ancient Egyptian, Chinese, and Middle Eastern cultures. One of the oldest medical textbooks in the world, the Ebers Papyrus, describes how the ancient Egyptians used cupping therapy in 1,550 B.C.

Please note: cupping can leave round shaped bruising for approximately 3-10 days post treatment, rest assured this is completely normal as part of the healing process.

What is it ?

Also known as massage gun therapy. It is often used as muscle recovery tool that brings the reward of massage to your home. However, they are also incredibly beneficial when used by a professional therapist on a client as we're able to access area's which may usually be unreachable by individuals whilst applying the recommended pressure to promote recovery and healing

Massage guns has long been considered a recovery aid for athletes.

Celebrities initially fuelled the buzz, from soccer star Cristian Ronaldo to models Slanina Shahik and Miranda Kerr, or actor Chris Hemsworth.

The guns work by repeatedly applying bursts of pressure to muscles in a rapid up-down motion to deliver what’s known as percussive or vibration therapy which in return promotes healing and muscular recovery.

Whilst you can find basic models for roughly the £100 mark, in our practice we only use the most sought after & industry leading guns by high-end brand Theragun (£700+) to provide our clients with optimum treatment.
